“Our principled position is that the settlement should be based on the respect of the right to peace, equality and self-determination. For a final settlement of the conflict it’s necessary to consolidate all the efforts to develop relevant mechanisms and conditions for a peaceful co-existence of the two independent states – Artsakh and Azerbaijan”, Karen Mirzoyan said.
Arms sales in a conflict zone can only aggravate the conflict and escalate the situation, Foreign Minister of Artsakh Karen Mirzoyan said during the topical discussion “Foreign policy agenda” in the sidelines of the 6th Armenia-Diaspora conference, answering a question about the Russian arms sales to Azerbaijan.
He added that Azerbaijan does everything to leave Artsakh out of negotiations. “They understand very well that the full participation of Artsakh in the negotiations will shake the false ideas that they have raised for years”, Artsakh’s Foreign Minister said.
The Defense Army forces fully control the situation in the frontline and continue carefully conducting the military service.
“For us it is important to have a neighbor committed to certain principles, but unfortunately, we do not see any positive development on this path”, the Artsakh Ombudsman said.
“The ministry of defense of the Republic of Artsakh declares that no incidents have occurred during the recent days within the Armed Forces”, the ministry said, urging the media to use official press releases for information.
September 14 Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan hosted a group of participants of the “Modern Aspects of Rehabilitation in Medicine” 8th international conference.
The president highlighted such meetings from political and practical viewpoints, qualifying them among key components of constructive internal political dialogue.
Ambassador of France to Armenia H.E. Jean-Francois Charpentier says any kind of dialogue is acceptable which is directed towards favorable solution of the discussed issue.
From the Artsakh side, the monitoring mission was accompanied by representatives of the ministry of foreign affairs and ministry of defense.
