“We had a rather constructive reflection from the Armenian side, and we hope in the forthcoming weeks and months that negotiations of the priorities of the partnership will also be finalized.”
“We hope, that international criteria will be applied. We should pay attention to official launching of the campaign, so that the process was pure, sincere, in compliance with international criteria.”
It’s difficult for me to comment, as it turns out that Russia needs Armenia, the latter’s partnership in the military field, the latter’s permits, which it provides to Russia disinterestedly, for that not putting forward claims, meanwhile under current state of affairs, I believe, those claims would have positive implications for the Armenian side. Russia can’t ignore complaints of Armenia’s society and authorities if they are properly expressed.
s a result of the ceasefire violation by the Azerbaijani side, on January 22, as of 23:25, the NKR Defense Army soldier Karen M. Yet not having overcome implications of the April four-day war, Yerevan and Baku have to again involve in the arms race instigated by Moscow. Basically, the April war became another reason that the parties to the conflict started to get more intensively armed and currently that process is in its most active stage.
“If the Armenian side is discontent with the policy pursued by Moscow, first and foremost, it should observe its own policy,” Stepan Grigoryan, head of the Centre for Globalization and Regional Cooperation, told 168.am, reflecting to Armenia’s toolset of controlling Russia-Azerbaijan new arms deals.
Noting that last year the military service of our troops coincided with the period of time when in April they had to face the offensive of the adversary and defended Fatherland with honor, the President underscored that after decommissioning they still remain the soldiers of Fatherland regarless of where and in what area they continue their activities.
“Let me stress one noteworthy circumstance. After the April war Azerbaijan participated in preparation of agreements in Vienna and St. Petersburg, agreements, which are observed as installation of monitoring systems on the contact line and international observers. Of course, Baku didn’t sign those documents, which prevents application of these means, as international observation in Baku is perceived as interference with Baku’s internal affairs.”
There is no any guarantee that this year import volumes will be recovered and reach 2 billion m3. Of course, purpose of tariff reduction by “Gazprom Armenia” was consumption increase, however, Karen Karapetyan himself isn’t sure that gas supplier will reach that goal.
““Russia has consistently provided armaments to the parties to the conflict, by that attempting not to give predominance to any side, at the same time hinting, that victory of any side isn’t beneficial for it. In this case Russia is led by its national interests, which is keeping Russian presence in the South Caucasus”
