“International reflection generates from the interests and policy led by those states, meanwhile our own reflections and lessons learned are of primary importance. What lessons do we learn from our mistakes? Firstly, we should learn to accept our mistakes and not introduce our defeats as ‘moral victories.’ We need to learn not to cheat, not to possess what, being public, may be helpful to us all. We need to learn speaking with one another not from the positions of self-esteem, but from that of justice.”
“It’s difficult to see a connection between that abnormal phenomenon and politics, but it’s also difficult not to connect them with the developments to occur in autumn. On account of the circumstance, that the incumbent authorities face serious issue on gathering votes and winning, It’s not excluded that through such artificial methods an attempt is made to divert people’s attention from unfavorable socio-economic condition in the country, also with the purpose to weaken the wave of people’s discontent coming from it.”
“It turned out that NATO member countries don’t believe in Russia’s words. It became obvious that it’s of utmost importance for NATO that the so-called Eastern wing has been touched upon, however, by saying Eastern wing NATO means the territory from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea, including Georgia.”
“It is planned to continue extensive negotiations to resolve the conflict with the involvement of senior officials from each side,” said Warlick. “Progress in the diplomatic direction is required to reduce tensions between the parties.”
“I personally consider, that this is only the beginning of a wide-scale conflict against Islamic terror of the West and Eurasia, which strongly deepens its roots in Africa and the Middle East. NATO failed to win Islamic terror neither in Afghanistan, nor in Iraq, nor in Libya. And if the Islamic State and such structures deepened their roots there, and the West generates war with them, then they will move their war to the countries of South Europe, including, France and Germany. This is a conflict of views, in case of which the possibility of clash of civilizations is high,” he said.
“During the night of July 26 the chain of such actions led to a firefight, which resulted in wounded people. The National Security Service announces that the criminal behavior of the gunmen, which becomes gradually more and more dangerous, crosses all lines where it is possible to display reasonable restraint.”
“Serzh Sargsyan recently signed one legal document, it’s the protocol signed in St. Petersburg during the meeting with Aliyev, and everything is enshrined in it. Today OSCE MG U.S. Co-Chair appeared with a statement that they’re organizing a meeting, which should touch upon the monitoring group, the necessity of such conditions, in case of which the ceasefire will be possible to maintain, only after that shift to conflict peaceful settlement process is anticipated.”
“If the authorities remain on their positions and don’t intend to go to an essential compromise, naturally, this means, they can’t leave the situation last long and simply will seek for a proper moment to attack, which we understand will have a tragic development and tragic ending. However, in any case, I want to hope that negotiations will move to the political field and will be exactly negotiations and not talks around some conditions with the participation of mediators, which can’t provide any result.”
“Lessons should have been learned long ago. Russia should have contacts in Armenia, not only with the leading group, but with a wider layers of Armenia’s society—universities, mass media, human rights organizations, NGOs, all political powers. Russia should understand that Armenia is not only Serzh Sargsyan. I don’t say Sargsyan is a bad or a good one, it should be decided by the people of Armenia. You should decide and clarify, but we should understand that Armenia is not him, his group and supporters.”
“Firstly, the territories which are under the control of NKR, Armenia are the guarantor of both NKR territorial integrity and our physical safety, there are people in that territory, how do you imagine those people leaving? There is no such an issue. It may be discussed, put on negotiation table, however, I’m sure people living both in Armenia and in NKR, all Armenians won’t go to that step. We have previously conceded,” Vitaly Balasanyan said.
