A few days ago during the session of the NA standing committee on economic issues the RPA chair of the committee Vardan Ayvazyan spoke against the initiative of the ARF to establish an ad hoc to investigate through Nairit by mentioning that this is not the right time as negotiations are still pending.
At a presentation yesterday on the topic of “National Brand Strategy: Tasks and Perspectives” in Yerevan the Armenian society was informed of an initiative that would bring an American company to help Armenia to help the country develop a competitive brand strategy. The total cost of this project will be 450,000 USD, 150,000 out of which will be paid by the Armenian government.
“It is the right of political powers; I have said several times that it is a tool for political competition that is accepted in many countries. Normally our opposition can use this tool too, and it is very normal that they possess such tool and whenever they need they have the right to use it,” said Prime-Minister Tigran Sargsyan to journalists in a meeting at the parliament yesterday.
Recently the water service to Ararat Cement factory that belongs to PA chair Gagik Tsarukyan was ceased. But it was fixed in a day. This step is already labeled as persecution of the business activity of Tsarukyan, which they believe happened when the PA criticized the RPA in its party congress.
The question “What is the lesson of Ukraine” is often heard in almost all post-soviet states. This matter should concern both the Armenian government and opposition. But we see that the Armenian politicians not only don’t answer any of those questions but also close their ears in order not to even hear the question. And it should first of all be the Armenian government that should learn lessons from Ukraine.
In fact this slammed the Armenian government, which has committed to follow a policy of economic reforms, improving Armenia’s positions in international rating reports. The government explains the reduction of investment volumes in Armenia with global financial crisis and other related processes, and they assure that the adoption of a pension fund reform will help them to generate long money to fuel the economy. In fact billions have been taken out of this country, which needs every dollar so much.
“Ukraine was not the defeat of Russia (not by any means); Ukraine was Putin’s personal defeat, the defeat of his virtual politics”,- said Mr Dubnov.
Wasn’t this the best forum to speak about the perks and benefits of the new reform and devastate the counter-arguments of all opponents on the matter? And so Sargsyan spoke. The text of the speech amounted to 7 pages (A4 format, Sylfaen, fonts 12 and no spaces). This would mean a lengthy speech, which would give an answer to all the questions. The Premier first spoke about the necessity of applying the new reform.
The main justification of the pension reform is that the government promises decent pensions to senior citizens. But is it really so? Let us try to understand how much an average pension will be due to the new pension system. For the calculation let us pick the recent figures.
