Gladys Berejiklian is set to become Premier of Australia’s most populous state, New South Wales, according to Huffington Post Australia. Berejiklian declared herself a candidate after Mike Baird resigned from the post on January 19. Baird has endorsed her as his successor.

Knar Yemenijyan, the last survivor of the Armenian Genocide passed away aged 107 in Canada on January 19. Yemenijyan was born in 1909 in Kayseri. Her entire family was able to escape the Armenian Genocide.
